What is EVA?

Ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer (EVA) is a thermoplastic resin formed by the copolymerization of ethylene and vinyl acetate. With the increase of vinyl acetate (VA) content, the elasticily, softness, adhesion, compatibility, transparency and solubility of EVA resin are also improved accordingly. The content of vinyl acetate(VA) is usually 5%~40%. Compared with polyethylene, EVA resin reduces its high crystallinity and improves its flexiblity, impact resistance, filler compatibility and heat sealing properties due to the introduction of vinyl acetate monomer in the molecular chain.

Generally speaking, the performance of EVA resin mainly depends on the content of vinyl acetate in the molecular chain. Since the proportion of each component can be adjusted to meet different appication needs, the higher the content of vinyl acetate, the higher its transparency, softness and toughness. Therefore, EVA resin granules can be widely used in foam shoe materials, functional shed flms, packaging flms, hot melt adhesives, wires and cables, and toys and other fields.
