Aluminum chlorohydrate (ACH) is an inorganic polymer compound with the molecular formula Al2(OH)5Cl. The appearance is white solid powder, easily soluble in water, and its solution is a colorless transparent liquid with a specific gravity of 1.33-1.35g/ml (20°C), and has certain corrosiveness. Aluminium chlorohydrate has excellent flocculation ability and can form colloid.

The alumina content in liquid ACH is more than 23%, and the alumina content in solid ACH is generally 46%-50%. ACH has strong bridging and adsorption properties, and is easily soluble in water. The hydrolysis process is accompanied by physical and chemical processes such as electrochemistry, coagulation, adsorption and precipitation.
